Supply Chain Engineer (Aerospace): Owning externally sourced hardware reliability and build-to-print customer contracts from supplier qualification through first article and rate production with an accent on supplier quality, manufacturing requirements, and delivery execution. Focus on resolving supplier defects, driving corrective actions to root cause, managing technical data packages and schedules, and ensuring compliance with aerospace quality standards.

Location: El Segundo, California, United States; onsite five days a week. Travel up to 25% to supplier facilities, hirify.global factories, and customer sites.

Salary: $100,000–$180,000 USD annual salary

What you will do

  • Own build-to-print contracts from award through first article and rate production.
  • Decompose customer technical data packages into requirements and coordinate execution across engineering, procurement, production, and suppliers.
  • Build and manage schedules covering long-lead procurement, tooling, qualification, first article, and delivery.
  • Lead containment, disposition, investigation, and closure of supplier-caused defects and nonconformances.
  • Qualify and develop suppliers through capability assessments, quality-system reviews, audits, first article inspection, and production-readiness activities.
  • Identify supply-chain risks and develop repeatable supplier-quality and program-execution standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or another STEM discipline.
  • At least 2 years of professional or internship experience in quality, manufacturing, process, or supply chain engineering.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, including GD&T.
  • Experience owning a project or program with a hard external commitment, including building schedules and driving cross-functional execution.
  • Ability to communicate directly with customers and suppliers about technical, quality, and schedule commitments.
  • Must be a U.S. person under ITAR requirements, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent residence, or protected-person status.

Nice to have

  • At least 4 years of experience in quality, manufacturing, process, program, or supply chain engineering in aerospace, defense, or another regulated hardware industry.
  • Technical program management, product ownership, or NPI experience in hardware.
  • Experience with machined parts, avionics and PCBAs, or injection molding.
  • Experience with AS9100, comparable quality systems, AS9102 first article inspection, or supplier approval processes.
  • Experience owning schedules in formal tools and reporting status to leadership and external customers.
