TL;DR
Electrical Engineer, Senior-Staff (eGSE) (Aerospace Electrical Engineering): Designing and delivering electrical ground support equipment, racks, enclosures, harnesses, and hardware-in-the-loop test systems with an accent on signal integrity, power architecture, and MIL-spec fabrication. Focus on standardizing EGSE across programs, solving complex power and data-system integration challenges, and supporting production and test bring-up.

Location: Fully onsite in Long Beach, California, or Denver, Colorado, United States

Salary: $150,000–$220,000 for Senior Engineer or $160,000–$250,000 for Staff Engineer annually, plus equity and benefits

Company

hirify.global develops autonomous spacecraft, advanced payloads, mission software, and space-based interceptors for space security and defense.

What you will do

  • Design and deliver EGSE racks and test enclosures from requirements through first article build and checkout.
  • Create mechanical layouts, electrical schematics, harness designs, and complete drawing packages.
  • Lead MIL-spec harness fabrication and define build-quality standards, including connector inspection, shielding, crimping, and backshell installation.
  • Standardize rack components, inventory, procurement, power architecture, data routing, grounding, shielding, and EMI mitigation across programs.
  • Develop hardware-in-the-loop test-system architecture for emulator-based and flight-hardware configurations.
  • Support production and test bring-up activities, mentor engineers and technicians, and maintain traceable technical documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering, or a comparable discipline.
  • Hands-on EGSE, test-system, or hardware-engineering experience in aerospace, defense, or another high-reliability industry.
  • Experience designing and building harnesses, including crimping, connector inspection, backshell installation, and shielding termination.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical hardware-design skills, including 3D layouts and schematics for the same system.
  • Experience with rack-level power and data architecture, UPS systems, lab-grade power supplies, Linux-based control systems, and mixed signal/power environments.
  • Must satisfy U.S. Government export-control requirements: U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residency, protected-individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Aerospace or startup experience.
  • Hardware-in-the-loop test-system experience.
  • Mechanical or electrical CAD experience with tools such as SolidWorks or Altium.
  • PCB design, harness rework, or signal-integrity layout experience.
  • Python or C++ familiarity for collaboration with software engineers.

Culture & Benefits

  • Equity participation.
  • Health, dental, vision, HRA, and HSA options.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
  • 401(k) and parental leave.
  • Hands-on work supporting spacecraft, payload, and space-defense test infrastructure.
