TL;DR
Electrical Engineer I-III, Systems (Spacecraft) (Electrical Systems/Aerospace): Supporting the design, analysis, testing, and integration of electrical systems for complex spacecraft missions with an accent on power distribution, signal integrity, requirements management, and verification. Focus on developing test procedures, troubleshooting hardware anomalies, conducting power and thermal analysis, and supporting spacecraft integration across the development lifecycle.

Location: Fully onsite at the GravityWorks factory in Centennial, Colorado, or Long Beach, California

Base salary: $75,000–$165,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

  • Support spacecraft electrical systems engineering, including concept development, requirements analysis, trade studies, interface definition, and verification planning.
  • Contribute to electrical system design and verification, focusing on power distribution, signal integrity, and component selection.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional spacecraft engineering teams on system integration and mission objectives.
  • Develop and maintain requirements documentation and engineering records.
  • Participate in subsystem and system-level integration testing, execute test procedures, troubleshoot hardware anomalies, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Perform power budget, thermal, and basic radiation-effects analyses and document findings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, physical sciences, or a related technical field.
  • 0–7 years of relevant experience in aerospace, defense, or another high-reliability industry.
  • Working knowledge of spacecraft electrical systems, electrical design principles, circuit analysis, and system-level engineering.
  • Familiarity with requirements management and engineering documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with standard electrical engineering tools, including SPICE simulation, CAD tools, or analysis software.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual, or eligible to obtain the authorizations required under ITAR regulations.

Nice to have

  • Experience with spacecraft power systems, avionics, electrical subsystems, or complex integration and test processes.
  • Knowledge of radiation, thermal, and vacuum effects on electronics, reliability analysis, or FMEA methodologies.
  • Experience with in-circuit testing or testing large quantities of electronics.
  • Programming or scripting experience with Python, MATLAB, or similar tools.
  • Understanding of signal integrity and EMI/EMC considerations, or ability to maintain or obtain TS//SCI clearance.
