Manufacturing Engineering Intern - Space Sytems (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Support production improvement projects and daily production issue management.
• Design and develop production tools, jigs, and tooling when required.
• Create work instructions for technicians using developed systems.
• Complete process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), risk assessments, and investigations.
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and subject matter experts across multiple departments.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute improvement ideas.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a bachelor's, master's, or advanced degree in mechanical, mechatronics, electrical, aerospace, computer science, or a similar engineering program.
• Hands-on experience from engineering project teams, laboratory research, a relevant internship, or similar work experience.
• Ability to read, interpret, and create mechanical drawings.
• Self-management, professional communication, strong interpersonal skills, and collaborative working ability.
• Ability to work independently with external companies.
• For work in New Zealand offices, nationality checks and eligibility to access ITAR-regulated equipment and data are required.

Nice to have

• Design-and-build project experience demonstrating initiative.
• Knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or PFMEA.
• Hands-on manufacturing methods experience.
• Previous manufacturing engineering internship or project experience.
