Manufacturing Engineering Internship - Spring 2027 (Aerospace)

Location: Full-time, on-site in El Segundo, California, United States. Candidates must be U.S. persons authorized to work in the United States.

Hourly rate: $33.00

hirify.global develops commercial space infrastructure, including in-orbit pharmaceutical processing payloads, reentry capsules, heat shields, and satellite buses, in-house.

What you will do

• Design or contribute to factory layouts and infrastructure supporting production scale-up.
• Create new manufacturing processes and improve existing production workflows.
• Optimize spacecraft and reentry hardware designs for manufacturability.
• Perform hands-on production tasks and support build operations as needed.
• Bridge design and production while solving real-time manufacturing problems involving flight hardware.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program; the preferred field is Engineering or Physics, including Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience through project teams or internships.
• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, including 5S and production-floor planning.
• Modeling and assembly CAD experience.
• Understanding of engineering fundamentals, including statics, dynamics, thermodynamics, or heat transfer.
• U.S. person status and lawful authorization to work in the United States are required due to ITAR-controlled technology.

Nice to have

• Experience with CAD tools such as NX, MATLAB, or LabVIEW.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience owning and delivering a technically complex project in a team setting, such as FSAE, senior design, or a rocket team.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
