Simulation Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain simulation systems, tools, and virtual environments for robotic warehouse automation.
• Build faster-than-real-time, scalable simulation environments for engineering analysis, design validation, system testing, and operational planning.
• Develop simulation capabilities at component, robot, fleet, and system levels.
• Support simulation coverage for robots, perception, controls, routing, fleet coordination, warehouse operations, and system-wide automation scenarios.
• Collaborate with robotics, controls, perception, cloud, QA, architecture, and product teams to align simulation capabilities with development and deployment needs.
• Analyze performance, scalability, accuracy, and usability gaps; provide technical recommendations, documentation, and mentorship.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience, preferably with simulation, robotics, optimization systems, or virtual environments.
• Professional Gz Sim and ROS2 expertise.
• Mastery of C++ and Python, with strong software engineering skills for designing, implementing, testing, optimizing, and maintaining complex simulation software.
• Hands-on experience with simulations, digital twins, virtual environments, or system modeling tools for real-world engineering applications.
• Working proficiency in verbal and written English and the ability to communicate technical concepts, findings, risks, and recommendations independently in an international environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with C# or JavaScript.
• Experience with faster-than-real-time and multi-fidelity simulation modeling.
• Experience with cloud-based simulation, distributed simulation workloads, or scalable simulation infrastructure.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Windsurf.
