What you will do
- Build an end-to-end real-to-sim pipeline for facility-scale environments, including 3D reconstruction and photorealistic re-rendering.
- Generate navigable layouts, obstacles, and object placements procedurally to stress-test loco-manipulation policies.
- Create synthetic training data for policies coordinating mobile-base positioning and arm manipulation.
- Develop simulation benchmarks for VLA, imitation learning, diffusion, and reinforcement-learning policies.
- Improve rendering fidelity to reduce the sim-to-real gap for vision-based loco-manipulation.
- Collaborate with AI Research and Data Ops to prioritize simulation data and real-world capture.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in computer science, robotics, graphics, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Hands-on experience with robotics or graphics simulation stacks such as MuJoCo, Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, SAPIEN, Omniverse, or Blender.
- Experience with procedural scene or asset generation, domain randomization, or photorealistic rendering pipelines at scale.
- Familiarity with manipulation or loco-manipulation policy training and evaluation, including imitation learning, VLA, diffusion models, or reinforcement learning.
- Strong Python skills and comfort with PyTorch or JAX.
- Senior-level ownership and independent judgment in defining a simulation-focused research agenda.
Nice to have
- Real-to-sim-to-real pipelines, 3D reconstruction, NeRF, Gaussian splatting, or differentiable rendering.
- World-model or video-prediction research, learned dynamics, or latent world models.
- GPU-scale physics simulation, CUDA, or large-batch parallel simulation.
- Simulation of wheeled or mobile manipulators and experience with loco-manipulation or whole-body control.
- Publications at CoRL, RSS, ICRA, NeurIPS, CVPR, or SIGGRAPH, or experience mentoring a small research team.
