Software Engineer (Python/AWS)

Location: Cork, Ireland (hybrid); three days onsite and two days remote.

What you will do

• Own the consumption metering ingest and cloud marketplace submission pipelines across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Run the system in production, including code review, CI/CD, deployment, incident response, and on-call participation.
• Build alerting, retries, idempotency, and self-recovery mechanisms to improve revenue-critical system reliability.
• Create runbooks, consolidate product-specific submission logic into a unified engine, and address structural design issues.
• Partner with Product, Finance, Sales Operations, and Customer Success to develop live balances, hourly usage accuracy, and burn-rate forecasting.
• Lead the technical relationship with external billing SaaS partners and own operational and architectural risk mitigation.

Requirements

• At least four years of professional software engineering experience.
• Professional ownership of a production system, including end-to-end incident response and reliability improvements.
• Strong Python skills or demonstrated ability to ramp up quickly on an unfamiliar stack.
• Experience shipping serverless, event-driven systems on a major cloud platform, such as AWS Lambda, EventBridge, SQS, Azure Functions, or Google Cloud equivalents.
• Production integration experience with billing platforms, cloud marketplaces, payment providers, ERP, or CRM systems.
• Experience with modern CI/CD, Git-based workflows, and infrastructure as code, plus the ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience with m3ter, Stripe Billing, Metronome, Orb, or a similar metering platform.
