Senior Buyer

Location: Remote within the United States; the salary range is specific to Washington State. Applicants are subject to U.S. Government export-control review and may need to be a U.S. citizen or national, asylee, refugee, or lawful permanent resident.

Salary: $102,804–$154,206 per year, with offers typically positioned in the lower to middle portion of the range.

What you will do

• Support Contract Administrators with post-award subcontract and purchase-order administration.
• Prepare reports on closeouts, past-due purchase orders, supplier commitments, and purchase-order value utilization.
• Coordinate with suppliers to track deliveries, resolve delays, and maintain active Certificates of Insurance.
• Resolve invoice deficiencies, match exceptions, and payment issues to support timely supplier payment.
• Work with Shipping/Receiving to ensure materials are received accurately and on time.
• Screen new suppliers and process small-dollar P-card procurement requisitions for laboratory activities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of related experience, an associate degree with 5+ years, or a related bachelor's degree with 1+ year of related experience.
• Experience building effective relationships with internal customers and suppliers.
• Understanding of warehouse, shipping/receiving, or material-handling operations.
• Strong organizational, verbal, written communication, multitasking, and collaboration skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is preferred.
• Ability to satisfy U.S. Government export-control requirements for the role.

• Military experience.
• Experience in a U.S. Government, DOE, or DOD environment.
