Procurement Associate / Technical Buyer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; working in the office five days per week is essential.

What you will do

• Identify procurement needs across engineering, prototyping, testing, propulsion, and manufacturing teams.
• Manage parts and materials from vendor prospecting and quoting through negotiation, purchase-order placement, supplier follow-up, delivery, and receipt.
• Source machined and fabricated components, hardware, tooling, test equipment, lab supplies, and other technical materials.
• Track supplier schedules, lead times, delivery risks, open requests, RFQs, quotes, purchase orders, and commitments.
• Partner with engineering and manufacturing to clarify drawings, specifications, quantities, revisions, substitutes, and priorities.
• Build supplier relationships, qualify vendors, and create contingency plans for supply-chain disruptions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, operations, production control, manufacturing, or vendor coordination in a hardware environment.
• Strong organization and follow-through while managing multiple parts, suppliers, quotes, purchase orders, delivery dates, and issues.
• Ability to understand engineering requirements, drawings, specifications, and part descriptions.
• Strong supplier communication skills, including requesting quotes, negotiating basic terms, confirming schedules, and escalating risks.
• Ability to work in an ambiguous startup environment with rapidly shifting priorities.
• Ability to work in the San Francisco office five days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with aerospace, export-controlled environments, AS9100 suppliers, or regulated hardware.
