Manufacturing Engineering Intern (Composites) (Aerospace/Composites): Supporting the production, validation, and testing of composite launch-vehicle processes, tooling, and equipment in Auckland with an accent on right-first-time implementation, repeatability, and yield. Focus on root-cause investigations, risk mitigation, process optimisation, technical documentation, and continuous-improvement projects across engineering and production teams.
Location: Auckland, New Zealand. The role is subject to background and nationality checks because access to equipment and data is regulated under U.S. ITAR requirements.

What you will do
- Support composites manufacturing engineering activities for launch-vehicle production.
- Implement and validate production processes to achieve right-first-time results, repeatability, and high yield.
- Create technical documentation and improve production work instructions alongside technicians.
- Design and develop tooling and equipment with engineers, technicians, and subject matter experts.
- Investigate non-conformances and root causes, mitigate process risks, and manage daily production issues.
- Coordinate project resources, milestones, process changes, prototyping, testing, validation, and continuous-improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- Currently studying toward a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal, collaboration, and independent working skills.
- A flexible, proactive approach suited to a growing production environment.
- Passion for the aerospace industry.
- For work in New Zealand offices, eligibility to access ITAR-regulated equipment and data is required; nationality checks will be conducted before an offer.
Nice to have
- Computer-aided design experience, preferably with Siemens NX.
- Experience with DFMEA and PFMEA methodologies.
- Knowledge of composite material properties, including resin systems, ablative materials, and sandwich structures.
- Experience with composite manufacturing techniques or previous composites and manufacturing-engineering projects.
