Salary: $85,000–$145,000 USD annually

What you will do

  • Develop design-for-manufacturing concepts, trade studies, fabrication plans, and scalable manufacturing processes for current and next-generation aircraft.
  • Design tooling, floor plan layouts, assembly and part-level drawings, technical data packages, and bills of materials.
  • Coordinate new product and technology introductions across aircraft design, production, supply chain, facilities, quality, certification, and fabrication teams.
  • Work with internal and external fabricators and suppliers through manufacturing, first-article builds, testing, documentation, and production handoff.
  • Research, procure, test, and evaluate equipment, automation, robotics, and other manufacturing improvements using production data, cost, benefit, and ROI analysis.
  • Document lessons learned, maintain improvement roadmaps, review post-introduction results, mentor team members, and coordinate agile project goals and timelines.

Requirements

  • Experience designing, fabricating, and testing new products or technologies.
  • Working knowledge of aluminum, steel, composites, coatings, bonding, drilling, machining, welding, abrasion, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Experience collaborating with mechanical and electrical design, software, quality, supply chain, certification, and manufacturing teams.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, quality documentation, and requirements.
  • CAD design experience; 3DX and Delmia are preferred tools.
  • Experience with supplier management, R&D tooling and equipment, first-article components, automated manufacturing, robotics, and aerospace manufacturing processes for both prototype and high-rate production.
