Controls Network Engineer (AI)

Location: Must be based in the U.S. (New York, Austin, San Francisco, Seattle, or Remote U.S.)

Salary: $162,000 – $240,000

What you will do

• Own the controls network layer for BMS, EPMS, and SCADA across all data center sites.
• Build telemetry and command paths for the Ignition SCADA platform to ensure sub-second response times.
• Engineer failure modes to ensure equipment islands gracefully during communication loss.
• Integrate with landlord and partner OT domains through secure, firewalled boundaries.
• Enforce OT security posture through strict network segmentation and monitoring.
• Embed controls network requirements into site design from the initial planning phase.

Requirements

• Must have U.S. work authorization.
• Proven experience designing and operating OT/ICS networks in production facilities.
• Deep knowledge of BACnet/IP, Modbus TCP, and OPC UA protocols.
• Expertise in IT/OT network layers including routing, multicast, QoS, and PTP/NTP.
• Ability to translate complex control sequences into network architecture (VLANs, routes, firewall rules).
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time to data centers and construction sites.

Nice to have

• IEC 62443 or IEC 61850 certification/depth.
• Experience with Ignition SCADA platform.
• Familiarity with data center MEP systems and electrical metering.
