Network & IP Engineer (Cisco)

Location: Hybrid working in the United Kingdom, with travel to the Winchester or London office typically required up to twice per week. Offices are listed in Crawley Court, Winchester; Newman Street, London; Emley Moor, Huddersfield; and Chalfont Grove, Gerrards Cross.

Salary: Up to £53,800 base salary per year

What you will do

• Design, implement, operate and improve network and IP infrastructure across LAN, WAN, microwave radio, telecommunications and VSAT technologies.
• Install, deploy and configure network hardware and software solutions.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve network issues to maintain reliable service delivery.
• Monitor network performance, analyse data and identify improvement opportunities.
• Participate in testing, validation, maintenance, upgrades and transformation projects.
• Maintain technical documentation, share knowledge and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver resilient, secure network services.

Requirements

• Knowledge of network and IP technologies, infrastructure and protocols.
• Experience with network engineering, telecommunications, routing, switching, LAN and WAN environments.
• Understanding of network security principles and secure-by-design practices.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience with automation using Python, Ansible or NetOps tools is desirable.
• Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications or related education, or equivalent practical experience, is advantageous.

Nice to have

• Experience with intent-based networking and Cisco networking equipment.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
