Manager, Plant Operations (Nuclear)

Location: Onsite in Gaithersburg, Maryland, United States; 5 days in office. Standard hours are 8:00am–5:00pm ET, Monday–Friday. Travel up to 40%.

Salary: $200,000–$224,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead the design, development, and implementation of plant operations, chemistry, and maintenance engineering programs.
• Contribute to plant design and licensing while ensuring nuclear safety principles flow into operations programs.
• Coordinate with operations engineering managers, leads, system engineers, mechanical, electrical, and process design engineers.
• Develop procedures, policies, processes, practices, and design guides for system engineers and plant implementation.
• Lead chemical processing system design and oversee specifications for chemistry process equipment.
• Work with vendors and regulatory teams on equipment delivery, safety policies, controls, and hazardous chemical procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in a nuclear, chemical, or other highly regulated environment.
• At least 3 years of management experience.
• Experience designing, constructing, and/or operating an industrial facility.
• Strong background in chemistry programs and company operations.
• Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Gaithersburg, Maryland, during standard Eastern Time office hours.

Nice to have

• Experience as an SRO, Operations Superintendent, Plant Manager, Nuclear Operations professional, or Shift Manager.
