Director - Nuclear Engineering

Salary: $160,000–$230,000 per year

hirify.global is developing commercial fusion energy using stellarator physics and computer-controlled arrays of planar coils.

What you will do

• Lead and grow a nuclear engineering team developing commercial fusion power technology.
• Direct nuclear design for fusion systems, including blankets, shields, bioshields, and the fuel cycle.
• Manage nuclear engineering for the system facility, including high-energy particle cascades, activation products, and dose-rate calculations.
• Integrate safety, regulatory compliance, and environmental standards into the fusion device and facility.
• Build organizational capabilities through recruiting, mentoring, retention, and professional development.
• Coordinate with engineering system owners and ensure the quality of nuclear engineering work, reports, and presentations.

Requirements

• MS or PhD in nuclear engineering.
• 15+ years of experience in nuclear engineering or a similar technical field.
• Leadership experience on advanced nuclear projects, such as fission reactor or accelerator projects.
• Experience building and managing teams in a startup environment.
• Strong analytical skills and understanding of engineering first principles.
• Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and technical communication skills.
