What you will do

  • Oversee chemical operations required to bring a state-of-the-art enrichment facility from development through full-scale operations.
  • Ensure chemical processes, equipment, laboratories, and product quality programs meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate chemical activities across engineering, R&D, procurement, and project teams, including technical input to work plans and schedules.
  • Develop operational programs, procedures, job hazard analyses, safety protocols, training, and chemical waste management practices.
  • Hire and supervise chemistry technicians and supervisors while building a strong nuclear safety culture.
  • Lead continuous improvement, incident investigations, corrective actions, and operational performance monitoring.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, nuclear engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in nuclear chemical operations, engineering, project management, or design.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of chemical processing, analytical chemistry, and industrial chemistry in nuclear environments.
  • Experience with laboratory and product quality assurance programs, hazardous materials handling, chemical safety, and emergency response.
  • Thorough understanding of NRC regulations, including 10 CFR Parts 19, 20, and 70, and nuclear safety principles.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as necessary, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

Nice to have

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience establishing and certifying chemical laboratories and product certification programs.
  • Knowledge of project planning, cost management, budgets, and financial implications.
  • Experience with uranium hexafluoride chemistry and processing.
