Software Engineer (NodeJS, Typescript)

Location: London, England, United Kingdom. Hybrid work model with onsite work at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Design, build, test, and improve backend services and APIs using Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS.
• Own features from planning through release, including code quality, deployment, and production support.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to turn requirements into reliable solutions.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
• Use AI tools for research, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation while validating outputs.
• Improve system security, monitoring, observability, reliability, and maintainability.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience building production applications in an agile environment.
• Strong backend development skills with Node.js and TypeScript, including APIs or microservices.
• Experience with React or Angular in a product engineering environment.
• Hands-on AWS experience and knowledge of cloud-native development, testing, and deployment.
• Experience with SQL databases, Git, Docker, and modern CI/CD pipelines.
• Practical understanding of AI-assisted engineering tools and responsible use related to privacy, security, and quality.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with infrastructure as code, such as CDK or Terraform.
• Experience with observability tooling, incident response, or production monitoring.
• Understanding of LLM concepts including tokens, embeddings, hallucinations, and safe software-delivery use cases.
