Senior Backend Software Engineer (Node.js)

What you will do

• Write, test, debug, and troubleshoot scalable, maintainable backend code.
• Lead technical discussions and propose solutions that improve team performance and support engineering objectives.
• Independently deliver medium-sized projects or technical components from start to finish.
• Analyse complex technical problems and implement effective solutions.
• Identify improvement opportunities, drive constructive changes, and share engineering best practices.
• Collaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and engineering teams while mentoring junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
• Hands-on software engineering experience with a primary focus on backend development.
• Experience with Node.js, microservices, Docker, and cloud services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with CI/CD tools, including AWS CodePipeline or GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency with WebSockets, Pub/Sub, TypeScript, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, and Elasticsearch.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, design principles, problem-solving, and technical communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with Svelte and SvelteKit or other server-side rendering frameworks such as React and Next.js, Vue and Nuxt, or Quasar.
• Proficiency in JavaScript fundamentals and Storybook.
