Company

hirify.global is an end-to-end space company developing rockets, spacecraft, robotic systems, and critical subsystems for commercial, civil, and national security missions.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain software for robotic platforms, motion-control systems, embedded interfaces, sensing systems, test systems, and operator-facing tools.
  • Support the full software lifecycle from concept, simulation, and hardware bring-up through integration, testing, deployment, troubleshooting, and production support.
  • Integrate software with motors, actuators, encoders, sensors, motion controllers, embedded systems, machine vision, industrial networks, and robotic equipment.
  • Work with mechanical, electrical, controls, systems, manufacturing, test, and quality teams to define requirements, interfaces, verification approaches, and release criteria.
  • Investigate issues across software, controls, electrical hardware, sensors, actuators, networks, and production equipment.
  • Support code reviews, Git workflows, CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, release practices, and technical communication.

Requirements

  • Degree in software engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, aerospace engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 0–2 years of professional software engineering experience for Software Engineer I, or 2–5 years for Software Engineer II, in robotics, motion control, embedded systems, hardware systems, or other complex technical products.
  • Strong proficiency in C++ and/or Python, with experience using robotics frameworks such as ROS or ROS 2.
  • Experience with real-time or embedded software, control loops, deterministic timing, and hardware bring-up.
  • Experience developing in Linux and applying software engineering practices including architecture, code reviews, CI/CD, automated testing, documentation, and production support.
  • For work in the United States, eligibility to meet applicable ITAR and U.S. Government space technology export authorization requirements is required.

Nice to have

  • Motion planning, kinematics and dynamics, trajectory generation, controls software, robot calibration, perception, state estimation, or sensor fusion experience.
  • Real-time operating systems, bare-metal embedded development, hard real-time control, or safety-critical software experience.
  • Experience with CAN/CANopen, SpaceWire, MIL-STD-1553, EtherCAT, SPI/I2C, Ethernet, TCP/IP, Modbus, OPC UA, PLCs, or other industrial and spacecraft communication interfaces.
  • Simulation, digital twins, hardware-in-the-loop, software-in-the-loop, automated test equipment, or production test systems experience.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, space, advanced manufacturing, industrial robotics, medical devices, or other high-reliability hardware environments.

Culture & Benefits

  • Hands-on work in a fast-paced hardware development environment with cross-functional engineering and production teams.
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage, including a company-sponsored HSA option.
  • Three weeks of paid vacation, five sick days, paid holidays, paid parental leave, disability insurance, and life insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with company match, employee stock purchase program, and company equity opportunities.
  • Onsite gym, subsidized EV charging, food and drinks, and employee discounts.
