Sci Ops Associate (Bioengineering)

Salary: $95,000–$120,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Own routine cell biology workflows, including mycoplasma testing, cell line banking and expansion, and cryovial inventory monitoring.
• Prepare media, buffers, antibiotic stocks, purified proteins, glycerol stocks, agar plates, and competent cells with quality control.
• Fabricate lab-specific consumables, including custom gel casting materials, and support general cloning workflows.
• Coordinate contamination response and maintain laboratory readiness through bench resets, incubator maintenance, autoclave scheduling, and shelf stocking.
• Write and maintain SOPs for recurring scientific operations and continuously improve methods.

Requirements

• Hands-on wet-lab experience with sterile technique, reagent preparation, cell culture, protein expression and purification, and multi-well plate workflows.
• Ability to execute repetitive, detail-critical work reliably and independently.
• Strong communication, collaboration, organization, and documentation skills.
• Experience writing or following SOPs in a research or regulated laboratory environment.
• Comfort working in an early-stage environment with shifting priorities and developing structure.
• Comfort spending up to 90% of the working time in the laboratory and working on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area.
