Senior Associate Scientist I/II (GPCR Biology)

Location: On-site at the San Diego headquarters, United States

Salary: $88,000–$110,000 for Senior Associate Scientist I; $102,000–$128,000 for Senior Associate Scientist II, annually.

What you will do

• Design and conduct in vitro studies supporting hit-to-lead medicinal chemistry programs targeting GPCRs.
• Manage CRO scientists involved in the design, development, and implementation of in vitro assays.
• Run weekly cell-based assays to screen and evaluate small-molecule compounds.
• Analyze, quality-check, and communicate scientific data with biology, chemistry, and compound management teams.
• Present experimental results and project updates at team meetings.
• Contribute to the management of the biology laboratory.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biochemistry, pharmacology, cell biology, or a related scientific field.
• 3–5 years of industry experience for Senior Associate Scientist I or 6–8 years for Senior Associate Scientist II.
• Hands-on experience with cell biology, cell culture, HTRF, reporter gene cell-signaling assays, and imaging assays.
• Ability to critically evaluate data, develop and test scientific hypotheses, and work independently.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work on-site at the San Diego headquarters.

Nice to have

• Experience with traditional and innovative GPCR screening methodologies, signaling, and trafficking.
• Familiarity with high-throughput screening methodology.
• Experience designing and implementing in vivo models in coordination with CROs.
