Platform Architect (Investment Management)

Location: Onsite in Austin, Texas, United States

Salary: USD 210,000–260,000 per year, plus bonus or incentive opportunities.

What you will do

• Define target-state architecture, technology strategy, principles, reference architectures, and multi-year roadmaps for investment operations and distribution platforms.
• Lead architecture governance, design reviews, technology assessments, proof-of-concepts, and platform modernization initiatives.
• Modernize platforms supporting trade lifecycle management, settlement, reconciliations, fund accounting, custody, performance analytics, regulatory reporting, distribution, CRM, and client engagement.
• Design scalable and resilient solutions using APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, containers, and cloud-native platforms.
• Lead application and data architecture on GCP and PCF, including data pipelines, metadata, analytics platforms, and AI or GenAI capabilities.
• Partner with business, product, engineering, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and SRE teams while mentoring engineers and architects.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, or enterprise architecture.
• Significant experience in asset management operations and sales and marketing technology, including vendor platforms, SaaS ecosystems, package implementations, and build-versus-buy decisions.
• Strong proficiency in Java with Spring Boot or Spring Cloud, .NET/C#, or Python.
• Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven architectures, API design, distributed systems, and large-scale platform modernization.
• Cloud architecture experience with GCP or AWS, plus Docker, Kubernetes, data architecture, Snowflake, SQL Server, and modern cloud data platforms.
• Experience with Salesforce integrations, DevOps toolchains, and AI/ML architecture, model deployment, and governance frameworks.
