TL;DR
Lead Product Quality Engineer, Industrials (Additive Manufacturing): Owns quality strategy and execution for industrial customer programs across product validation, production, and quality systems with an accent on process control, advanced manufacturing, and regulated quality standards. Focus on leading IQ/OQ/PQ validations, investigating non-conformances, driving CAPAs, deploying SPC frameworks, and mentoring quality engineering teams.

Location: Newburyport, MA, with occasional travel to the Devens, MA facility.

Annual base salary: $117,400–$161,500, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

  • Own product lifecycle quality for designated industrial product lines from initial validation through steady-state production.
  • Lead IQ/OQ/PQ process validations and verification activities for new product introductions and line expansions.
  • Investigate complex product non-conformances, lead material review boards, and drive CAPA execution.
  • Deploy and monitor SPC frameworks, define critical-to-quality metrics, and optimize metrology and testing protocols.
  • Author, review, and approve quality system documentation, including DHFs, DMRs, and DHRs, to maintain audit readiness.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Process, and Machine Engineering teams on proactive quality controls and design-for-manufacturability initiatives while mentoring junior quality engineers and inspection technicians.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive quality engineering experience in a highly regulated advanced manufacturing environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field preferred.
  • Proven mastery of First Article Inspection Reports, process capability studies, DFMEA, and PFMEA.
  • Hands-on experience with AS9100 or ISO 13485 quality management systems.
  • Familiarity with metal alloys, metallurgy, precision machining, or metal additive manufacturing.
  • Experience providing technical guidance, coaching, and peer reviews for quality engineering and inspection teams.

Nice to have

  • ASQ certification such as CQE or CRE.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.
