Intern - Equipment Engineer (Industry 4.0)

Location: Pasir Gudang, Johor, Malaysia; onsite at the WD Media Office

What you will do

• Support equipment engineering, automation, data analytics, and Industry 4.0 initiatives in a manufacturing environment.
• Contribute to projects improving equipment performance through digitalization and online monitoring systems.
• Develop dashboards and reports to visualize equipment performance data and support data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with Equipment, Process, and IT teams to identify improvement opportunities and support IoT or smart device deployment.
• Participate in troubleshooting and document findings, standard operating procedures, and technical reports.

Requirements

• Final-year Bachelor's student in Engineering.
• Available for an internship of at least 3 months starting October 2026.
• Programming and data analytics skills, such as Python and SQL.
• Dashboard development skills; Power BI is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of automation and control systems.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication, independent working, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Studies in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Instrumentation, or Computer Engineering.
• Hands-on IoT or smart device project experience, including academic or personal projects.
• Proactive learning attitude and interest in manufacturing technology and Industry 4.0.
