TL;DR
Motors Engineering Technician | Motors R&D (Electric Aviation): Building, assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electric motors and stators for electric aircraft with an accent on electro-mechanical assembly, validation, quality inspection, and high-voltage safety. Focus on interpreting engineering drawings and schematics, supporting design engineers, documenting build processes, and solving process deviations during R&D and flight-test validation.

Location: Onsite in South Burlington, Vermont, United States

Salary: $26–$35 per hour

What you will do

  • Assemble and repair electric motors and stators, including redlining engineering drawings and creating build records.
  • Perform testing, validation, troubleshooting, and manufacturing processes with design engineers.
  • Edit and implement technical documentation, logs, and check sheets.
  • Conduct in-process quality inspections and identify process deviations during troubleshooting.
  • Develop expertise in electro-mechanical assembly of fully electric propulsion systems.
  • Work safely around high-voltage systems and participate in atypical test-program schedules when required.

Requirements

  • Two-year degree or certificate from an accredited college, university, or technical school preferred.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
  • Ability to operate hand and power tools and perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods.
  • Understanding of how electric motors work, strong critical-thinking and communication skills, and ability to adapt to changing goals.
  • Experience working collaboratively and proficiency with word-processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Manual dexterity and commitment to workplace safety.

Nice to have

  • Previous experience building electric motors or assembling stators.
  • CAD experience, specifically 3DX or Catia.
  • Technical knowledge of electrical systems from 24 VDC to 800 VDC.
  • Experience with stator electrical testing.
