TL;DR
R&D Technician (Aerospace Manufacturing): Fabricating and assembling prototype turbine hardware, building test rigs, and running instrumentation and data acquisition for a 42 MW natural gas turbine with an accent on high-pressure fluid systems, precision assembly, and translating CAD designs into hardware. Focus on troubleshooting build and test anomalies, identifying root causes, and developing procedures for hardware without established processes.

Location: Centennial, Colorado, United States; onsite in an active shop environment

Salary: $35–$46 per hour, with additional potential long-term incentives, equity, flexible PTO, and other benefits.

hirify.global develops advanced aerospace technology and is building Superpower, a 42 MW natural gas turbine designed to provide rapid onsite power generation.

What you will do

  • Fabricate, assemble, and inspect prototype turbine components across structures, rotating hardware, fuel systems, and instrumentation.
  • Build and operate test rigs, configure instrumentation, and run data acquisition on a 42 MW turbine.
  • Assemble high-pressure pneumatic and hydraulic fluid systems, including tubing and fittings, and perform leak verification.
  • Translate CAD designs into physical hardware in collaboration with engineers and identify designs that cannot be built as drawn.
  • Troubleshoot build and test anomalies, document findings, and drive investigations toward root cause.

Requirements

  • Hands-on fabrication or test experience in aerospace, defense, or high-performance industrial environments.
  • Experience with mechanical assembly, precision components, fluid systems, or avionics wiring.
  • Experience assembling, leak-checking, and troubleshooting high-pressure pneumatic or hydraulic systems.
  • Familiarity with hi-lok, NAS, and MS fastener standards and torque documentation.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings; disciplined documentation habits and working knowledge of aerospace quality standards.
  • Basic CAD literacy and comfort working in a physically active shop, including extended standing and lifting up to 50 lbs unassisted.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with GD&T according to ASME Y14.5.
