CNC Programmer (Mill/5-axis) (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot 5-axis CNC machining programs, primarily using hyperMILL.
• Produce complex hardware for engine, vehicle, avionics, and test development on CNC mills and mill-turn machines.
• Use CAD/CAM and OEM software including hyperMILL, NX, ESPRIT, Siemens, Mazatrol, and Haas NGC.
• Manage digital tool libraries, tool magazines, carbide tooling, and cutting parameters.
• Design rapid fixturing solutions and suggest drawing or design changes to improve manufacturability.
• Develop inspection strategies and machining cycles for efficient unattended manufacturing, while identifying bottlenecks and improving processes.

Requirements

• 5+ years of CNC programming experience with multiple CAM packages, such as hyperMILL, NX, Mastercam, or ESPRIT.
• 4+ years of hands-on programming and machining experience with 5-axis mills or 5-axis mill-turns.
• Experience with manual and CNC mills and/or lathes.
• Ability to rapidly learn new CAM software and manage large tool libraries.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• Applicants must be U.S. Persons or eligible to obtain a U.S. export license under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience setting up machine shops and evaluating capital equipment purchases.
• Experience with Hermle 5-axis machines, automation systems, and Siemens controllers.
• 4+ years of turbomachinery programming, including MAX-PAC.
• Python or similar programming experience.
• Experience developing machining and inspection cycles for unattended operation.
