TL;DR
Senior Systems Engineer (Aerospace): Developing and integrating mission-critical space and defense systems with an accent on requirements engineering, systems architecture, integration, verification, and mission risk analysis. Focus on leading system trade studies, coordinating hardware and software teams, validating mission requirements through end-to-end testing, and designing mitigation strategies for complex autonomous space missions.
Location: Fully onsite at the Centennial, Colorado office; work may take place in a standard office or production factory.
Base salary: $125,000–$235,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do
- Define and document mission objectives, operational concepts, and system requirements with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Lead system trade studies, performance evaluations, feasibility assessments, and architecture design activities.
- Develop requirements traceability, integration plans, verification plans, and end-to-end test activities across vehicles and systems.
- Coordinate hardware and software subsystem teams to resolve integration issues and support mission readiness.
- Support testing and real-time mission execution while analyzing reliability, safety, mission effectiveness, and environmental performance.
- Assess collision and operational risks, define mission success criteria, and develop mitigation and contingency plans.
Requirements
- 8+ years of full-lifecycle experience leading a major subsystem through design, testing, and verification.
- Strong technical leadership, systems architecture, analytical, communication, and technical trade skills.
- Experience leading design, analysis, and verification on a major aerospace program.
- Ability to lead cross-functional technical teams across hardware and software boundaries.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain or maintain a DoD TS/SCI or TS/SAP clearance are required.
Nice to have
- Advanced degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) expertise.
- Experience with range certification, test readiness reviews, safety boards, defense, or classified space missions.
- Active TS/SCI clearance.
- Familiarity with DoD and NASA standards and processes, and experience working with government agencies, primes, or subcontractors.
