Principal Systems Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end systems engineering and integration for Axiom EVA systems, including spacesuits, flight support equipment, training equipment, ground equipment, and EVA tools.
• Define system concepts of operations, functions, interfaces, architectures, product breakdown structures, and subsystem requirements.
• Plan, coordinate, and close integrated verification and validation activities, including test plans, procedures, schedules, and supplier requirements.
• Lead major AxEVA testing campaigns and coordinate test and analysis plans with engineering teams, management, customers, and external partners.
• Capture V&V evidence, prepare verification closure notices, coordinate requirement close-out, and develop waivers and other variances.
• Monitor design and testing progress, assess integrated performance, communicate SE&I status, and manage cross-system change impacts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, mechanical, or another related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering and integration.
• Experience defining requirements, verification approaches, validation activities, and integrated V&V plans.
• Strong organization, technical rigor, proactive problem-solving, and execution discipline in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
• Ability to collaborate with system and subsystem engineers, program office personnel, customers, suppliers, and external partners.
• Must meet applicable U.S. export control screening requirements for access to ITAR, EAR, or NASA-regulated technical data. Willingness to work evenings and weekends when required by critical project milestones is also required.
