Systems Engineer V - Systems (Aerospace): Defining, integrating, and validating complex defense and space systems with an accent on requirements traceability, system architecture, MBSE, and verification. Location: Reno, NV; Folsom, CA; or remote within the United States

Salary: $153,615–$199,400 USD base annually, depending on experience, skills, and location. California range: $161,700–$199,400; Nevada range: $153,615–$189,430.

What you will do

  • Define, integrate, and validate complex defense systems while serving as a technical authority for systems engineering rigor and mission requirements.
  • Manage system, subsystem, and interface requirements, including traceability, verification, compliance, and requirements flowdown.
  • Lead system architecture development, functional allocation, interface definition, and system-level verification and validation planning.
  • Coordinate with propulsion, software, hardware, GNC, and test teams to achieve system performance and verification closure.
  • Manage system-level risks, technical baselines, change control, and formal reviews such as SRR, PDR, CDR, and TRR.
  • Provide MBSE leadership using SysML, requirements databases, digital engineering tools, and Cameo Systems Modeler; mentor junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related STEM field with 10 years of relevant experience; alternatively, a related master’s degree with 8 years of experience, 14 years of experience in lieu of a degree, or a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Deep familiarity with MDA processes, CDRL development, and systems engineering lifecycle standards including the INCOSE SE Handbook and MIL-STD-499.
  • Expert proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORS.
  • Significant experience applying MBSE principles with SysML and Cameo Systems Modeler (MagicDraw).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, and Project.
  • Must be a U.S. Person under ITAR/EAR regulations and eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government clearance.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of DoDAF architecture frameworks and digital engineering environments.
  • Experience with reliability and/or system safety analyses.
