Robotics Application Engineer (AI)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally for approximately 25%, including up to three months during onboarding.

Base salary: USD $125,000–$200,000 per year, depending on skills, experience, and location.

What you will do

• Adapt and optimize robotic systems for client applications, including path planning, perception, and object manipulation.
• Create task-specific workflows, configurations, and behaviors for robotic systems.
• Debug application-level issues and collaborate with hardware and software teams to resolve them.
• Conduct onsite testing in dynamic environments and iterate on applications to improve reliability and performance.
• Provide technical support and hands-on training to clients and operators.
• Document application workflows and create user guides and interfaces that simplify system operation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in robotics application development or integration.
• Strong programming skills in Python and C++ with experience in task-level software development.
• Proficiency with ROS 2 and simulation tools such as Gazebo or RViz.
• Hands-on experience with robotic arms, grippers, and vision systems.
• Strong understanding of motion planning, perception systems, kinematics, and application-level troubleshooting.
• Experience dockerizing applications and deploying containerized solutions; willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
