Head of Product Design (AI)

Location: Brooklyn, NY, United States

Annual base salary: $240,000–$300,000 USD, plus potential equity and discretionary bonus or variable compensation.

What you will do

• Build and lead an agent-first product design organization from the ground up.
• Own the vision, contribution model, documentation, and tooling for a semantic, composable, machine-readable design system.
• Design agent-native workflows with reasoning surfaces, provenance, citations, confidence signals, consent, task previews, and human-in-the-loop review.
• Set the end-to-end design strategy across enterprise supply chain, customs, government, logistics, and financial services products.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Customer Experience, Marketing, and Sales on strategy, discovery, prototypes, and the design-to-code pipeline.
• Connect design investments to activation, time-to-value, workflow completion, adoption, retention, expansion, and network metrics.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product or UX design experience, including 4+ years leading design organizations in complex, multi-product B2B or enterprise SaaS environments.
• Experience building and operating a design system used by engineers, product managers, and ideally AI tooling to ship production experiences.
• Demonstrated experience designing AI-mediated or agentic product experiences, including trust, provenance, confidence, human-in-the-loop review, and graceful failure patterns.
• Experience designing for multiple personas and organizations sharing workflows, such as collaborative SaaS, marketplaces, or network products.
• Technical fluency with design tokens, component APIs, CSS, React, accessibility standards, and design-to-code tooling.
• Strong product judgment, customer research skills, strategic communication, and experience working in high-growth or zero-to-one environments.

Nice to have

• Experience designing data-dense, decision-support, or analytical products such as supply chain visualizations, knowledge graphs, dashboards, or regulatory workflows.
• Experience building a design organization while continuing to lead hands-on design work.
