Director, Product Design (AI)

Location: Pleasanton, United States. Candidates within a reasonable commute to a hirify.global office are expected to work in the office at least 3 days a week.

Salary: $257,000–$322,000 per year, plus eligible short-term and long-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Set and evangelize the design vision and strategy for the hirify.global platform, connecting experience priorities to activation, adoption, retention, and expansion.
• Lead systems-level diagnosis of high-traffic experiences and define scalable interaction patterns for AI-assisted workflows.
• Design trusted AI experiences covering transparency, explainability, confidence thresholds, human review, correction, override, and audit-ready traceability.
• Prototype interaction models for steering, pausing, and auditing autonomous financial agents at enterprise scale.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data Science, AI/ML, research, digital experience, and GTM leaders to shape product strategy.
• Lead the design team, owning headcount, mentorship, budget, tooling, quality standards, and measurable portfolio improvement.

Requirements

• 12–15+ years of product design experience and at least 5+ years managing a design team.
• Bachelor's degree required; experience with AI-native finance, accounting, or related SaaS products is highly preferred.
• Experience setting design vision for a significant product line and influencing executives through business reasoning.
• Direct experience designing AI-powered or agentic products, preferably in a regulated or high-consequence domain.
• Fluency in explainability, data provenance, confidence communication, human-in-the-loop approval, exception handling, reversibility, and auditability.
• Modern toolchain experience with Figma, Figma Make, Claude, Storybook, Supernova or equivalents, plus HTML, CSS, and React.

Nice to have

• Working knowledge of enterprise finance and accounting workflows.
• Familiarity with compliance and audit expectations.
• Experience building AI-native finance, accounting, or related SaaS software.
