Air Import Operations Specialist

Location: Fully remote, Philippines; night shift aligned with US EST time zone.

What you will do

• Own end-to-end air import shipments from pre-alert through final delivery and billing closure.
• Identify and resolve flight delays, rollovers, offloads, documentation errors, customs holds, cargo availability issues, and handling delays.
• Coordinate recovery actions with airlines, agents, brokers, co-loaders, trucking providers, and overseas partners.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. import requirements, including Air AMS and ACAS filings, and validate MAWB, HAWB, invoices, packing lists, arrival notices, and PODs.
• Monitor cargo arrival, free time, and warehouse status to prevent storage charges; validate costs and billing accuracy.
• Communicate solutions and next steps to clients, escalate only after pursuing resolutions, and maintain accurate shipment milestones in the TMS.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of hands-on air import operations experience in a freight forwarding environment.
• Ability to independently handle shipment exceptions and manage multiple high-priority shipments without losing attention to detail.
• Strong working knowledge of air freight processes and documentation, including MAWB, HAWB, arrival notices, and PODs.
• Experience managing U.S.-bound shipments and AMS/ACAS requirements.
• Familiarity with customs clearance processes and clearance-related issue resolution.
• Experience coordinating with airlines, co-loaders, brokers, and overseas agents.
• Strong judgment, problem-solving skills under time pressure, and clear, proactive communication during disruptions.
• Experience using a TMS.
• Amenable to working the night shift aligned with US EST time.
