Deployed Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in New York City, San Francisco, or San José, United States; customer-site deployment may be required 2–3 days per week, and travel for customer engagements can reach 50%.

Salary: $180K–$233K per year.

What you will do

• Build and ship production software on top of the Tessera platform.
• Discover customer processes and turn ambiguous, cross-system problems into well-defined AI solutions.
• Create prototypes and applications that demonstrate AI agents in enterprise workflows.
• Partner with GTM, Product, Engineering, and Infrastructure on technical boundaries, Statements of Work, and scalable implementations.
• Drive customer adoption from pilot through production and identify new automation opportunities.
• Lead customer training and workshop sessions on site while feeding deployment insights back into product strategy.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience building software in a high-ownership, customer-facing role such as Forward-Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, founding engineer, early startup engineer, or technical founder.
• Strong hands-on experience with Python and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Experience building production-grade AI systems.
• Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous, high-stakes problems from zero to shipped.
• Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively amid ambiguity and fast-moving deployments, with willingness to travel and work at customer sites.

• Experience at a frontier AI lab or leading AI application company.
