Product Engineer (AI Agents)

Location: Fully in-office, 5 days a week, in New York near Madison Square Park

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 per year, plus equity and benefits

What you will do

• Build AI agents focused on long-horizon work, proactiveness, resilience, readability, and evidence citation.
• Design tool interfaces, context assembly, harnesses, and decision logic for real incident response.
• Develop streaming, orchestration, and API layers delivering agent output to Slack and the web product.
• Build evaluation harnesses and offline datasets to measure and validate agent improvements.
• Own storage, retrieval, and processing across PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, and S3 for large-scale telemetry data.
• Translate agent capabilities into product features that reduce cognitive load for on-call engineers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of software engineering experience focused on full-stack or backend systems.
• Hands-on experience building agentic AI systems or LLM-powered products, including tool use, context management, and failure modes.
• Strong Python and web framework experience, including FastAPI.
• Comfort working in React and TypeScript codebases and shipping features end to end.
• Experience deploying on AWS, working with ECS or Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, and S3.
• Ability to lead in fast-paced startup environments with limited resources and shifting priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience with Temporal or other durable execution and workflow orchestration frameworks.
• Background in observability, monitoring, or incident response tooling.
• Experience evaluating LLM systems or measuring non-deterministic software.
• Experience with large-scale, complex, data-driven applications.
