Software Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Location: Fully remote; candidates should be able to work during Pacific Time working hours

Salary: $150,000–$250,000 base salary per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build and scale production-grade web applications and APIs using Ruby on Rails.
• Collaborate with product, design, and business teams to deliver customer-impacting solutions.
• Own features end to end, from technical design and implementation through deployment and monitoring.
• Design and evolve architecture for scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Write clean, well-tested, maintainable code and improve development processes and tools.
• Mentor teammates, conduct code reviews, and contribute to technical strategy at senior, staff, and team lead levels.

Requirements

• Professional experience building web applications or APIs; the role is open across experience levels.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails or similar frameworks, with deep Ruby on Rails experience expected for senior and staff roles.
• Knowledge of SQL databases, particularly Postgres or AWS Aurora.
• Experience with Git, testing, debugging, API design, database schema design, and integrations.
• Staff and team lead candidates should have 8+ years of experience and a record of technical leadership; team lead candidates should have managed at least two full-time employees.
• Strong ownership, communication, problem-solving, and mentoring skills.
