Mechanical Engineer (Data Center Cooling)

Location: On-site in Austin, TX; New York, NY; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA

Salary: $237K – $300K per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Own mechanical engineering across the portfolio including cooling plants, liquid loops, and airside systems from reference design to energized state.
• Set and evolve the mechanical reference design for direct-to-chip liquid cooling with lessons learned from each build.
• Make field mechanical decisions such as routing conflicts, equipment substitutions, and sequence changes under build speed pressure.
• Review consultant packages with owner-of-record rigor before field deployment.
• Drive technical execution across multiple concurrent gigawatt data center sites to enable rapid build cycles.

Requirements

• Must be located on-site in one of the specified US cities.
• Proven leadership in mechanical engineering for data center or heavy industrial programs.
• Expertise in liquid cooling design including hydraulics, controls interface, and redundancy.
• Experience making field engineering decisions under schedule pressure.
• Ability to manage design firms with technical authority beyond contract terms.

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with direct-to-chip cooling, modular skid packages, hydraulic and CFD modeling.
