Senior Mechanical Operations Engineer (AI Infrastructure)

What you will do

• Serve as senior technical authority for mechanical and cooling infrastructure across hyperscale AI data centers.
• Lead site assessments, operational audits, and prepare teams for site activation.
• Review designs and specifications from an operational perspective and provide feedback for productization.
• Own mechanical operational readiness and commissioning-to-operations handover for new sites.
• Author and approve high-risk mechanical procedures (MOPs, EOPs, AOPs) and lead root cause analysis on significant cooling events.

Requirements

• Extensive experience with critical mechanical systems and thermal precision for AI workloads.
• Expertise in chilled water, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC, pumps, CDUs, and direct liquid cooling in live environments.
• Proven track record authoring and executing high-risk mechanical procedures and conducting root cause analysis.
• Ability to assess operational readiness, audit posture, and raise standards at any site.
• Experience teaching and building mechanical readiness of teams ahead of activation.
• Location: Must be based in the United States (remote).

Nice to have

• Experience with hyperscale or large colocation at hundreds of MW.
• Knowledge of ASHRAE TC 9.9, chilled water plant optimization, and Uptime Institute standards.
