Field Project Manager

Location: Must be based in Boston, Massachusetts, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, or Wilmington, Delaware, United States. The role offers remote work options but requires extensive travel, often 50% or more, and sustained on-site presence during critical project phases across New England, the Mid-Atlantic States, and North America.

Salary: $116,800–$182,500 per year, plus eligibility for bonus, stock, and benefits.

What you will do

• Support solution design, scope development, proposals, and end-to-end project delivery.
• Develop and maintain project plans covering scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Coordinate customers, internal stakeholders, external partners, and third-party vendors.
• Lead on-site execution, including vendor coordination and equipment-related activities.
• Monitor progress, resolve issues in real time, maintain documentation, and drive project momentum.
• Deliver CrossLab solutions such as laboratory relocations, consulting, and 3D lab design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience, including 5+ years in customer-facing field project management.
• Experience applying project management methodologies and managing operational or facility-based projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including meeting leadership and stakeholder updates.
• Experience working directly with external customers and using data tools or reporting systems.
• Ability and willingness to travel extensively, often 50% or more, and work on-site during critical project phases.

Nice to have

• PMP certification.
• Laboratory, instrument service, or equipment maintenance experience.
• Familiarity with GMP or GLP environments and pharmaceutical or life sciences experience.
• Experience managing quotes, purchase orders, invoicing, and third-party service providers.
• Lean Six Sigma certification and proficiency with MS Project, Smartsheet, Visio, SAP, or Maximo.
