Robotics Field Engineer (Robotics)

Location: USA, Wilmington, Massachusetts — HQ; onsite. Up to 20% travel to client and customer locations is required.

Salary: $82,000–$113,300 per year, with compensation varying by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Provide engineering support for mobile robots at customer sites and troubleshoot complex technical issues in real time.
• Guide maintenance teams through system diagnostics and component-level repairs across electrical, mechanical, and software systems.
• Develop and execute test plans, define validation requirements, and coordinate robotics system performance assessments.
• Coordinate field upgrade campaigns covering hardware and software enhancements for reliability, autonomy, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with systems engineers, robotics software developers, R&D teams, operations teams, maintenance teams, and external partners.
• Provide system diagnostics, root-cause analyses, technical recommendations, and data-driven insights for future robotics designs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in robotics or engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience providing onsite engineering services for complex robotic, automotive, or electromechanical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and software systems and identify root causes.
• Hands-on experience designing complex robotic or electromechanical systems.
• Experience with drivetrain systems, PCBAs, and other electromechanical components and systems.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive and/or fly to client and customer locations; up to 20% travel required.
