What you will do

  • Develop and maintain embedded software and firmware for rover control systems, motion controllers, and safety subsystems.
  • Design and tune motion-control systems, feedback loops, servo drives, motors, and related hardware and software interfaces.
  • Debug electromechanical systems across hardware, firmware, control logic, power systems, and communications.
  • Bridge electrical, mechanical, firmware, and software teams during system-level integration.
  • Define commissioning processes, including factory bring-up, field deployment, and over-the-air update architectures.
  • Support robotic product development from prototypes through production scaling, with attention to reliability, performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in controls engineering, embedded systems, mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical engineering fundamentals applied to robotics and motion systems.
  • Proficiency in embedded software development and familiarity with industrial controller environments.
  • Experience with communications protocols used in mechatronics and robotics, including EtherCAT and CAN bus.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings and debug system-level issues across hardware, firmware, and control logic.

Nice to have

  • Experience with functional safety and safety-critical systems.
  • Experience with autonomous mobile robots, warehouse automation, or large-scale robotic deployments.
  • Familiarity with over-the-air updates, remote diagnostics, field-deployed robots, and deployed-hardware firmware.
  • Experience with commissioning, manufacturing bring-up, system testing, production scaling, or test-fixture development.
  • Knowledge of distributed real-time systems, industrial system architecture, robotic kinematics, and motion-control algorithms.
