Hardware Engineer (Robotics)

What you will do

• Lead hardware engineering and manufacturing execution for multimodal wearable systems.
• Own integration across power systems, sensor synchronization, embedded compute, and mechanical packaging.
• Debug failures across electrical, firmware, thermal, and mechanical layers under real-world conditions.
• Review CAD, schematics, and PCB layouts to drive corrective actions.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into manufacturable systems.
• Drive production ramp-up and vendor management in China.

Requirements

• Mandarin fluency and established manufacturing relationships in China are required.
• Strong background in mechatronics, robotics, systems engineering, or embedded hardware.
• Experience building battery-powered electronics, embedded Linux systems, or wearable hardware.
• Ability to debug hardware using serial tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Strong mechanical judgment and ability to review CAD for structural and thermal reliability.
• Must be able to work on-site in China (Shenzhen/Dongguan) or San Francisco.

Nice to have

• Experience with motion capture systems, IMUs, stereo depth cameras, or tactile sensing.
• Proven track record of bringing hardware products from prototype to mass production.
• Experience in embodied AI or large-scale wearable systems.
