Senior AI Engineer

Location: Remote, U.S. only

Salary: $220,000–$350,000 per year

hirify.global Scientific builds and deploys AI scientist agents to accelerate scientific research and the development of new medicines. The role is part of FutureHouse, a non-profit research organization focused on applying AI to frontier biology.

What you will do

• Apply AI to biological research problems in collaboration with postdoctoral Fellows and research partners.
• Design, build, and deploy AI agents, LLM-powered applications, and research tools.
• Teach, coach, and support Fellows and collaborators in using AI tools for scientific research.
• Develop technical tutorials, workshops, and curriculum focused on AI agents and related tools.
• Scope ambiguous problems, identify high-impact AI opportunities, and manage complex projects through completion.

Requirements

• 5+ years of machine-learning and software engineering experience.
• Production software development experience and strong proficiency in Python.
• Experience building LLMs, AI/ML systems, agent architectures, or AI-enabled applications.
• An M.S. in science or equivalent research experience in an academic lab or life sciences company.
• Ability to work independently, learn scientific domains quickly, and operate effectively in ambiguous situations.
• Experience teaching, coaching, mentoring, or training technical or scientific audiences, plus strong project management skills.

Nice to have

• Ph.D. or equivalent research experience in biology, chemistry, bioengineering, computational biology, neuroscience, or a related discipline.
• Fluency in TypeScript or other programming languages.
