Ocean Import Specialist (Logistics)

Location: Fully remote from the Philippines (WFH); night shift aligned with US EST time zone.

What you will do

• Manage pre-arrival coordination, shipment documents, steamship line follow-ups, arrival notices, and invoice preparation.
• Coordinate customs clearance, resolve ISF, AMS, PGA, examination, and other shipment holds.
• Track demurrage and detention Last Free Days, send alerts, and escalate risks.
• Arrange trucking and delivery appointments, manage delivery exceptions, and obtain cost approvals.
• Monitor empty container returns, calculate detention or per-diem charges, and dispute incorrect carrier invoices.
• Reconcile final costs, issue debit notes, close shipment files, and provide proactive customer communication.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of experience in ocean import operations, including FCL and LCL shipments.
• Strong knowledge of US import procedures, ISF, AMS, PGA holds, customs clearance, demurrage, and detention.
• Hands-on experience coordinating with steamship lines, customs brokers, truckers, and overseas agents.
• Experience managing Last Free Days, delivery appointments, trucking arrangements, delivery exceptions, and cost approvals.
• Proficiency with freight forwarding systems or TMS, excellent communication skills, and strong attention to detail.
• Availability for a night shift aligned with US EST. Productivity may be monitored through tools such as Insightful.
