Logistics Coordinator (Manufacturing)

Location: Hybrid in Monterrey, Mexico

What you will do

• Coordinate inbound and outbound air, ocean, and ground shipments, including transportation scheduling, tracking, and proactive risk management.
• Prepare and review commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, shipping documents, customs entries, and related records.
• Ensure correct tariff classification, customs valuation, Mexican customs compliance, regulatory compliance, and timely clearance with customs brokers.
• Maintain shipment logs, KPI databases, ERP records, broker entries, and physical or digital files, validating consistency and document accuracy.
• Track logistics KPIs, evaluate freight performance, and support cost optimization, freight invoice validation, and landed cost reviews.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, Warehouse, Planning, suppliers, brokers, forwarders, and other stakeholders to maintain supply continuity and resolve logistics issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of import/export experience in manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Mexican customs procedures, HS codes, and global shipping documents.
• Experience coordinating air, ocean, and ground freight and working with customs brokers or forwarders.
• Strong Spanish and intermediate to advanced English.
• Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• High attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting customs audits.
• Knowledge of USMCA rules of origin.
• Understanding of global trade compliance, including sanctions, export controls, and forced-labor regulations.
• Experience with the IMMEX program, including temporary imports and compliance frameworks.
• Experience with Annex 24, including reconciliation, bill of materials consumption, and traceability.
• Experience in chemical-industry logistics, including HAZMAT, SDS, and UN classifications.
