Company

Develops stellarator-based fusion energy systems using computer-controlled arrays of planar coils to create a simpler path toward commercial zero-emission energy.

What you will do

  • Build and wire power supplies, energy storage systems, embedded control boards, and high-current AC-DC converters for HTS magnets.
  • Install and cable MV/LV switchgear, transformers, distribution panels, and Battery Energy Storage Systems.
  • Integrate auxiliary electrical and balance-of-plant systems for cryogenics, vacuum, cooling, and HVAC.
  • Set up testbeds, perform hardware bring-up and signal probing, and optimize parameters under staged load conditions.
  • Debug, solder, and rework custom printed circuit boards.
  • Read engineering drawings and provide field markups for schematics, single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and cable schedules.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, trade school certification, or equivalent practical experience in Electrical Technology, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on electrical technician experience in industrial, R&D, or high-power environments.
  • Experience building, wiring, and installing electrical distribution panels, power supplies, and control cabinets.
  • Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and other engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with oscilloscopes, multimeters, electronic loads, and related measurement equipment.
  • Understanding of LOTO, NFPA 70E, NEC, and strict electrical safety practices; ability to work around industrial hazards including high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics.

Nice to have

  • Experience in fusion, accelerator, or specialized industrial R&D environments.
  • Familiarity with high-voltage and medium-voltage distribution equipment, transformers, protective relays, and switchgear.
  • PCB rework, fine-pitch soldering, and analog or mixed-signal circuit troubleshooting experience.
  • Mechanical integration experience with cable trays, conduit bending, heat sinks, and cooling solutions.

Culture & Benefits

  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits.
  • Employee equity stock options.
  • 20 days of paid time off.
