Senior Electrical Engineer (Power Electronics)

Location: San Francisco; in-office work five days a week is essential

Salary: $175K–$230K per year

What you will do

• Develop high-performance, high-density, high-reliability power converters.
• Own system trade studies, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, debugging, manufacturing, and testing.
• Support hardware through prototyping, characterization, ground testing, and flight.
• Design and optimize high-power propulsion and generation systems with other engineering disciplines.
• Own products through the full lifecycle, from initial concept to delivery and operation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, master’s, or PhD in power electronics or an equivalent field.
• 5+ years of experience designing, building, testing, and shipping power converters.
• Experience taking at least two products through the full lifecycle from concept to production.
• Experience with high-voltage systems up to 1000V and/or high-power converters above 10kW.
• Expertise in DC-DC and DC-AC conversion topologies, electric machines, motor control, switching power loops, and EMI optimization.
• Proficiency with high-density converter PCB layout, circuit and system simulation, time-domain modeling, structural and thermal considerations, and hardware test automation.
