Senior Electrical Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, United States; in-office five days per week is essential

What you will do

• Develop high-performance, high-density, high-reliability power converters.
• Own system trade studies, component selection, analysis, schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up, debugging, manufacturing, and testing.
• Support hardware through prototyping, characterization, ground testing, and flight operations.
• Design and optimize high-power propulsion and electrical generation systems with other engineering disciplines.
• Drive products through the full lifecycle from initial concept to delivery and operation.
• Automate hardware testing and development functions.

Requirements

• BS, MS, PhD, or equivalent expertise focused on power electronics.
• 5+ years of experience designing, building, testing, and shipping power converters.
• Experience bringing at least two products through the full lifecycle from concept to production.
• Experience with high-voltage systems up to 1000V and/or high-power converters above 10kW.
• Expertise in DC-DC and DC-AC conversion topologies, electric machines, motor control, switching power loops, and EMI optimization.
• Proficiency with high-density converter PCB layout, circuit and system simulation, time-domain modeling, and thermal and structural considerations.
