Engineer, Whole Vehicle Test Requirements and Validation – EE (Automotive)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with occasional travel required

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus

What you will do

• Own whole-vehicle EE validation definition and execution across system integration, software releases, functional performance, and safe vehicle operation.
• Define validation strategies and acceptance criteria for electrical systems, software features, and integrated vehicle functions.
• Lead Safe-to-Drive readiness checks and Functional Sprint Testing before software releases are deployed to internal vehicle fleets.
• Validate HV systems, LV battery, charging, body electronics, propulsion, chassis, interior and exterior systems, and infotainment.
• Develop test cases, procedures, instrumentation strategies, fleet execution plans, and data-collection processes.
• Analyze results, identify risks and performance gaps, coordinate root-cause resolution, and provide software release recommendations.

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in whole-vehicle validation, full-performance testing, and vehicle-level verification.
• Hands-on experience with CANoe, INCA, and validation instrumentation for capturing, logging, and parsing vehicle-network and sensor data.
• Experience defining whole-vehicle test plans, executing physical or vehicle tests, and tracking build and software changes across vehicle fleets.
• Working knowledge of ALM and product-tracking tools such as Jama, Polarion, DOORS, MagicDraw, or Codebeamer.
• Understanding of whole-vehicle development phases, automotive safety standards, industry regulations, and automotive-grade system testing.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, teamwork, ownership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
